Okay it's not for my Ford 150. My girlfriends Maxima is not starting right now. I'm really in a bind because it is our only vehicle at college. When I turn the key, all the electronics turn on and everything seems normal. But when I turn it all the way to start, nothing happens. The electronics just dim. There is no noise coming from the engine. Nothing seems to be happening. It has a new battery and a new starter so those are ruled out. What else could it be? I know they fixed my ground wiring and now I can see some exposed wires. Could that be the culprit? Please guys I need your help badly!!!!!

Alright so I just tried again and the result was the same. But, after the first try I took the car out of park, shifted down to first, and back to park. The car started like it was normal. What in the world is Happening? Dammit I hate this car!!

Clean the battery post, might be full of battery acid build up which will cause a disconnection and voltage drop. Might also need a jump because your alternator might not be charging the battery.

It still could be the battery if she left some lights on or something it happened to me when i did my tint in my truck from having the doors open for 3 hours it did the same thing. Try a jump start.

Sometimes the Park safety switch on the gear shift goes bad. That could be it. Try jiggling the gear shift as you're trying to start it. My friend had a car similar to that and you needed to find a sweet spot before it would start.

Have the battery cables had new replacement ends crimped on? I've personally seen a couple of incidences where the terminals were corroded, so they were cut off and replaced with new. But the corrosion had worked its way inside the cable wires themselves and prevented the flow of electricity. Try shaking the cables to check them.
Really, I just helped a guy out with this last week.

Or maybe it's something else. . . .
