Hoffman is an Independent. Well actually he ran on the Conservative party ticket, and as of 4 weeks ago was in single digits in the poles. What we can glean from this is the fact that a RINO was outed and the party bosses in Upper New York were shown just how it will be done! Just how do you think she got on the ticket to begin with? The 23ed election is only a 9 month election, I would much prefer taking the other victories and waiting on this one!

Great...this goes to show that Fringe-cons should abandon the GOP and start their own party.....they can run with Nadar and Sharpton in the next election.

What is with the flippant deflection without any acknowledgement of your previous incorrect remarks?
Conservatism did not lose.
Typical 2 party politics was the real loser, but I would not expect an average leftwing partisan to recognize or acknowledge that.
Republican "leadership" nominated a poorly chosen candidate (in this case a liberal masquerading as a Republican) and then when she left the race, they praised her, even as she did her damnedest to harm their precious party by endorsing the Democrat! What lost was typical 2 party ineptitude and incompetence (in this case, Republican) by selecting the wrong candidate from the get-go. Someone they "thought" could win regardless of the overall effect such a candidate would have on the party at large. Much less that candidate`s proposed constituency.

Dude, I don`t know what you are specifically stuck on. You agree with me that the GOP conservative did not win and that the Palin(fringe-con)independant (see fringe-canidate) got a lot of votes which should not surprise you you based on how much outside money was funnled into this race.
But if you want to be a stickler for details....the real winner was a democratic canidate in a district that had not sent a democrat to Washington in about 50 years.
My point is that if Fringe-cons chase off the moderate Republicans then that is ultimately going to drive the GOP further into the fringes of the political spectrum and away from the mainstream.
That is good and why I love Sarah Palin...
She is the best thing to happen to conservatism in decades.

Thanks OC for stepping in for me, I`ve been away from the computer most of the day. JohnThomas doesn`t seem flow with any consistency and he can be a little hard to follow. I went back and edited my post so as to unbunch his panties. In any case I love to see Sarah endorsing any conservative, it beneficial to the liberals.

I get a good laugh from you remarks OC, you only reply to that one little snippet of the post and as most Lib`s you skip over the truth. You see, you don`t get to pick who it is that conservatism picks as it`s spokes people, it`s not your call! The spokes persons for conservatism are the American people! This country has always been center-right and now the giant is awake, look out!

No I don`t get to pick but I can sure see where it is going...when conservatives start listening to the Palin Facebook page over what Newt has to say then the movememnt really has swayed to the fringes.

It was funny when a fringe-con meant you were right of Bush...but right of Newt...that is beyond Fringe-Con..
Might need a new name for that.
