no, not a truck, that would take like a million cans
Im thinking more along the lines of a motorcycle. Tank, side covers, fenders....
Any idea what kind of process I would have to go thru to get a nice smooth paint job that looks decent. I know its not going to look like what a body shop could do but Im just curious as its a budget build if you will.

it would be just like any other project you want to paint.
alot of prep.
good clean place to paint.
and wet sanding to get a good, clean surface to polish to make it look great when your done.
I knew a guy who bought a case or two of spray paint and did his car with it. couldn`t tell it was a rattle can paint job when he was done.

painted the wifes exploder a few months ago... took 4 hours of prep & taping stuff off...took 2 cans of primer, 3 cans of royal blue paint... i didnt worry much about the small rust spots on rear fenders just samded smooth... alot of people swear it wasnt a rattle can. but i keep a can in rear to do on spot touchups.. it blows their minds to find out it was rattle canned...

that looks sweet!
did you do just the bue?
it looks as if you repainted the top half. but that could be because the bottom looks better against the top paint.

Had a guy down the street from me in Elmonte California that used a brush and roller, and when he was done with the first car I saw him do it looked better than a Spray job and some very nice cars went in and out of his shop, Wet Sanding is the key.

No kidding, why can`t I have a wife like that? =) I did a rattle can job on my tractor, and it looks great! Just do an excellent prep job and the rest will be easy and look good!
