Check the nut that holds the pitman harm to the sterring box. Mine was wondering down the road, with some play in the seriing wheel, and a loose nut was the cause. If that doesnt work, check the tires. I had a bad set of ProComp Xtreme All Terrains a while back. It made my truck wonder down the road really bad. I put different tires on, and it was gone.

I doubt it could be wheel bearings, but check them while your looking. I`d think its your tires or just the roads. When I had my 04 truck with the 16.5" wide tires on 14" wide wheels it would catch ruts in the road really hard.
BTW- I`ve got the 38x15.5 PJs and 16.5x12 Welds that were on my truck for sale for $1000 if you know anyone looking thats coming through the Orlando area.

its ont just the roads... i drove his truck today after he drove it and i didn`t get the same results, but went over the same roads.
he says that the problem isn`t like catching a rut, and with his previous bias ply tires he definately knows what that is like. he says when the problem is occuring it is almost like someone is turning the wheel to make a turn while he is holding the steering wheel steady. he says it trows him to one side, then throws him back the other direction.
ball joints were replaced last year..all new drag link assembly and tie rod assembly in the past few weeks... new power steering components. the confusing part now is that everything is new and the problem still exists.

Try rotating the tires.

Probably grabbing natural ruts in the road. My STS`s were horrible about that. I would go with a dual steering stabilizer set-up to help it track straight.

im almost positive its the u-joints in the axle... mine did exact same thing would drive fine then pull hard left and right by itself... i thought same things but before i did anything i took to the dealer instead of changing out everything. it solved it. they only had to replace one too. it makes since after you think about it.. joints are binding and making truck snap back and forth, and i couldnt hold the wheel straight when it did this

I`ve got a Jeep with a Dana 60 up front and mine was doing the same thing. Turned out, the spindle nut backed off and bearings were being destroyed. I caught it before the wheel fell off, but it was pretty scary.

Dan there are no spindle nuts, you have unit bearings. (unless you upgraded to Dynatrac since i talked to you last) Im guessing tires, I talked to Rog and we think maybe ball joints, but the more i think of it, i lean twards the bias ply tire. if you want i have some old radials off my truck. you can try them if you want to see if it makes a change. but we need rims. let me know if i can help

his current tires are 41x14.50r20 irok radials... so bias ply tires has nothing to do with it
